Repetition and Pace

  • Repetition – (2:5) “before any plant of the field.”
  • Repetition – (2:21-24) laqach + zelem (to take + side/rib) – Repeated usage of the verb to take and from his rib/side.
  • Pace – (2:21) Three verbs all indicating God’s action.  Verb attributable to man is simply to sleep indicating his passiveness and even his lack of awareness of the situation.
  • Pace – (2:15) Consecutive verbs, to till it and to keep it.
